MICKY HURLEY

Micky Hurley is a South American interior decorator and stylist who lives between New York City and France with projects worldwide. Micky’s roster of valued and devoted clients includes highly reserved, prominent families and inspiring individuals of diverse backgrounds from around the world who have sought out his talent, discretion and vast knowledge of antiques and art. Micky mixes his trademark fondness for quality pieces with his expert eye for color and texture and relishes collaborating with artisans who bring expert craftsmanship and a unique human touch to each project.

Micky Hurley creates exceptionally conceived spaces that feel at once lived in and impervious to the test of time. Micky injects his particular energy and vitality into every aspect of his work, leaving the indelible mark of his passion for interiors while ensuring each project is tailor-made to suit each of his client's distinct needs and desires. As a father of seven, he knows very well how to implement the practical points of a family home into a beautifully conceived space.

“It may sound very grand and aristocratic, but money is not the currency here — chic is, and above all, authenticity. ‘Living fantastically,’ is a favorite phrase of Micky’s.” — NY Observer

Throughout his life, Micky has had the good fortune to spend time with extraordinary talents in the world of art, music and design, which has added yet another dimension to his experience and background as a decorator, stylist and marchand d'art. His late step-father was a celebrated Italian opera / ballet director and scenographer, who worked closely with Giancarlo Minotti and directed stars such as Pavarotti, Nureyev and Baryshnikov. As a boy, Micky spent many months with his mother and step-father on sets of the most prestigious opera houses, from La Scala to the Met, soaking in the artistry and incredible talent.

Just like his colorful personality and the charming stories of his youth — from his grandfather’s polo and rugby adventures to his grandmother’s endless cultural dialogue — Micky’s inspiring interiors, whether maximalist or minimalist, are anchored by a European sophistication which transcends contemporary style and transient market trends. Micky’s work is his passion and his greatest professional joy is to share this passion with his clients! Micky’s work has been published in Veranda, House & Garden UK, Architectural Digest Italy and Architectural Digest Russia, amongst many others. He has been featured in the NY Observer, HOLA Magazine and several specialty books on design.

“After all, the most charming accessory in a Hurley [and company] interior is probably the Hurleys themselves.” — NY Observer
